I recently updated Fortnite on my Xbox Ones S and at the point of logging in, I got the “unexpected error occurred while signing in to your account for Xbox Live” error. I don’t know why this happened, if you play Fortnite on Xbox One or Xbox Series X/S, there’s a possibility you have encountered the error also.
Here’s how to fix the “unexpected error occurred while signing in to your account for Xbox Live” error when you encounter it.
After getting the error message on the screen, just leave the message there on the screen and perform the following action.
- Hold down the Xbox home button on you controller and select the option to restart console.
- After the console has fully loaded, select your user account, sign in and load Fortnite. You should be able to start Fortnite normally and sign into Xbox Live.
