Set up a firewall on your Android device with this app

android app
Whether you know it or not, dozens of the apps on your Android device are constantly collecting data as long as you’re connected to a cell or Wi-Fi network. Many of the apps don’t warn you in advance about their methods of collection, and there are plenty that cannot be deactivated, but one firewall app looks to be the easiest solution yet to protect your private information.

The NoRoot Firewall for Android will give you the ability to decide which apps can access the Internet and which you’d rather keep offline. Whenever an app attempts to connect, a window will appear asking you whether you’d like to allow or deny the request. Android users with rooted phones have been able to pick and choose for some time, but this is one of the first effective firewalls that doesn’t require root access. Currently, the developer warns users that the app may not work on LTE networks, but he is hoping to release an update soon.
